Baylor   (1998-2009)

Baylor, born 6/98 was a registered purebred German Shorthaired Pointer. He came to us from Iowa as a 6 mth old "orphan" after his owner died.
From a very strong stock of GSH's he had an exceptional nose and strong hunting instinct.
An active dog, he was always on the move  looking for critters. His specialty however was rocks!
From a pup he had liked to retrieve objects thrown and I made the mistake of throwing small rocks. He would retrieve rocks all day long.
A very loving and definitely a people dog, Baylor was an excellent companion, whether hunting or just lounging around the house.
He was very well disciplined and a smart dog, having graduated from puppy obedience college. He knew his place in the household and followed our rules.
Back in Wisconsin he had a hay day living in the country with us on 200 acres. Since coming to Arizona he  had to relax and go with flow, dealing with snakes, assorted bugs , the thorny bushes and the heat.
We sure miss him!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving  safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Reisling in one hand - chocolate in the other - body  thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming -
Whoo what a ride".
